19_Between Worlds
I drew inspiration and ideas for this painting from many places: a book I read; Floyd Red Crow; Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It seems to me that this world is divided with two views. That of consciousness and that of profit. Big business has taken us away from our connection to the magic of being in touch with this magnificent Earth. Some would have us believe that this is progress. But moving forward at the expense of the planet does not make sense to me. This is why I admire native culture. Native peoples understand the oneness of this world and respect it.
"This we know: All things are connected like the blood that unites us.
We did not weave the web of life, We are merely a strand in it,
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves."
